What we look at first
Before anyone spends time on a call, we check the few things that decide whether public funding is possible at all:
- Whether there is a Portuguese company. Grants and tax credits go to a company registered in Portugal, not to its shareholders. Your nationality does not matter. If you have not set the company up yet, we tell you what has to exist before an application.
- The sector and the region. Support rates and open calls change with both.
- Whether the investment has started. This is the question that closes the most doors.
- The size of the group. A Portuguese company owned by a large foreign group may not count as an SME, and many calls are for SMEs only.
If you have already ordered or paid for part of the investment, tell us in the form. Most programmes only pay for costs that start after the application is filed.

Is it really free?
Yes. The first analysis of your company and project and the video call are free and carry no commitment. The written analyses that may follow are paid, and we only propose them if we think your project has a real path. See how we work.
Do I need a Portuguese company before I fill in the form?
No. Tell us where you are. Many people contact us while they are still deciding whether to invest, and the order in which you do things matters: some steps are much better taken before you sign or pay for anything.
Will you call me?
Not without asking. We answer by email first. A video call only happens if both sides think it is worth it, and you choose the time.
